Full Disclosure: Thank you to Zubels for sponsoring this post and providing me with items to review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
I've noticed that boys and girls in the South dress a little differently than they do in the Midwest. The girls are usually in smocked dresses with lots of embroidery and a big bow on their heads, and little boys wear jon jons (sunsuits). After almost two years in Charleston, I'm finally starting to embrace everything Southern -- bring on all the gingham prints, seersucker, and monogram everything! Violet has a nice collection of adorable angel winged smocked dresses and my favorites are from Petit Ami.
Petit Ami has been family owned and operated for almost 50 years and they are a staple in the South. The line features dresses and jon jons with hand embellishments and embroidery, smocking, pin tucking, and appliqués. The dresses are beautiful and you can tell that a lot of work went into making them. They are heirlooms and usually saved and passed down from one generation to the next. You can find select Petit Ami dresses on Zubels (along with the adorable stuffed dolls I posted about a few weeks ago).
All of the dresses below are made out of lightweight cotton -- perfect for hot summer days, and they come with matching bloomer shorts. I love all the sweet little details too, like the tiny black button "ants" near the watermelon appliqué on the green gingham dress and hand-stitched details on the smocked collars.butterfly smocked dress / watermelon appliqué dress / seersucker ship applique dress
scallop smocked dress / purple angel wing smocked dress / sailboat angel wing dress
