Growing up I remember spending Christmas morning at home with my parents and brothers. After we finished opening up our gifts and having breakfast, we went to church, and then traveled to my grandparents house for Christmas dinner. That's where the real fun began. The great room (a big living room) had a HUGE real Christmas tree and there was always a sea of gifts for the grandchildren. I was lucky enough to have a large group of cousins around my age to run around with. It was crazy, loud, and so much fun! We peeked at presents, ate too much food, and hid in the guest room after dinner to avoid doing the dishes. There were always a lot of desserts too — including my mom's sugar cookies and everyone's favorite peanut butter blossoms. But I always went for the bowl of green and red Christmas Hershey's KISSES first. My grandma had them at every holiday dinner she hosted (pastels at Easter). The little KISSES candies will always remind me of holidays with family.
I was happy to see that my mom is continuing the tradition. While we were home last week I noticed that she had a bowl of holiday and peppermint Hershey's KISSES out for Thanksgiving. I ate my fair share over the visit and I even snagged a few for our plane ride home.
I’m looking forward to starting new traditions with my own little family. Of course I’ll continue some of my favorite traditions — I already have a box of Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe ready for Christmas this year.
Hershey’s KISSES Deluxe are twice the size as normal KISSES. The milk chocolate candy has a layer of thin crisps and there is a hazelnut in the middle! They are sooo delicious. I need to send a box to my grandma to thank her for giving me such sweet childhood memories of Christmas at her home.
