cornflake dreams.: friday five.

friday five.

It's Friday, you know the drill...I'm linking up with April today to share a few things on my mind:
ONE: Our friends are coming into town from Greenville this weekend, so we're getting together for brats + s'mores! hoooooray for actually making s'mores on a real fire instead of in the microwave :)
TWO: I can't believe Summer it's almost over! How did that happen?! I looked back on my summer bucket list and there are a few things I would still like to do before Fall arrives. Decorate Violet's nursery (yikes! still working on that one) - Plant an herb garden - Visit the James Island Farmers Market - Find a baby seat for my bike and start riding again (I might wait until Vi is a year old...seems like a safe option) - Visit the Cypress Gardens (this is going to be a Fall thing -- it's way too hot right now).
THREE: I would love to buy a new hairdryer -- mine is pretty close to biting it. Do you have any favorite brands or models? I have pretty straight, thin hair so I don't need anything too crazy powerful.
FOUR: Ok so I realize that Halloween is a few months away but I'm pretty excited to dress Violet up in something cute. And I absolutely loveee the costume options over at Pottery Barn Baby
FIVE: I started reading The Luckiest Girl Alive the other night and so far it's pretty entertaining. I want to read All the Light We Cannot See and The Girl on The Train next.

Have a great weekend!

  6. Yum I want some s'mores!! My hair dryer just broke so I ran to Marshall's and bought a cheap $17 and it's crap! I never knew spending some money on a hair dryer was so important but it is! I've heard good things about the Chi one! Have a fun weekend!

  10. My mom has the babyliss hairdryer and loves it. I totally need a new one. The good thing about the summer is that I don't need to use one. That pumpkin costume is too cute.

  11. I need to get started on my summertime bucket list too - I'm so sad it's almost fall! I recently finished All the Light we Cannot See and cannot recommend it enough. It was so good. Heartbreaking, but good. It's a huge book, but I flew through it - it was hard to put down. -Carly soak and simmer

  12. Mmmmm s'mores! That sounds like a very yummy weekend indeed! I can't believe summer is almost over either, but the calendar still shows us we have a little over a month so we still have time to get in those bucket list items ;-)

And I say go for the Drybar hairdryer, their products are amazing! Happy Friday <3

  13. Ohh I can't wait for it to cool down enough to make s'mores here! I feel like I need it to be cooler out for that. And love those cute little Halloween costumes! So adorable! Happy Friday!

  14. I have very similar-sounding hair type, and I love my Dry Bar dryer. And I vote for the teeny pumpkin :) It's definitely not too early - our baby boy is due at the beginning of October, and Im already thinking about what we'll dress an infant as!!

  17. Loved Girl on the Train! Babyliss Pro hairdryers are my favorite!! Mine lasted years without breaking and it was the best one I’d tried!

  18. I loved Luckiest Girl Alive!! Not as messed-up and twisty as Girl on the Train, so you're pacing yourself and that's good ;) Both are excellent reads, good choices!

  20. Giiiiirl, ever since you taught me how to make smores in the microwave, it has been a serious problem. I am addicted and can't stop! Minimum two a day. It's bad.

  21. I've never heard of any of those books. I have to finish the four beside my bed before I move on to something else though. I feel like y'all always have someone coming to see you!
And yes, wait for fall for the cypress gardens. It's gorgeous, but far too hot for that.
