life lately.

Sooo life has been pretty crazy lately. We had a great weekend but it was super busy and it flew by. My dad, sister-in-law and niece drove in from Illinois to meet Violet and drop off some furniture. It was sooo nice to see them and spend some time together even though their visit was short.
We took Violet to her first dinner out and she did great! She was happy to sit on my lap ;) And thankfully the restaurant was pretty noisy so when she got fussy towards the end no one was bothered by her crying. We took her out to another restaurant for breakfast the next morning and she was even better. I'm feeling more confident about taking her to restaurants now. hopefully we can visit our favorite burger spot when my mom is in town this weekend.

After my family left on Sunday H and I got to work packing up our place (which is pretty tricky when you have a two-month old to watch). We managed to get about 70% of our stuff packed, so we should be ready to move this Friday. I just hope the house is ready...
We stopped by our new place on Monday and they are making a ton of progress with popcorn ceiling removal and paint -- the bedrooms and bathrooms are finished! I am in love with our new navy master bedroom. But there's still a lot work to be done in the living room and kitchen. We need the painters to finish on time so we don't have any issues getting carpeting installed this week. I'm praying everything gets finished by Thursday night so my mom and grandparents have a place to stay that isn't a complete disaster!

I'm taking the rest of the week off to finish packing, cleaning, moving, and so I can spend some quality time with my family. I'll be sure to post some house updates and my mom and grandparents visit on Instagram!

Have a great week!

  6. The house is coming along! Looks great! I promise when you are out with Violet, even if she is crying, that most people don't notice. It's when they get older and louder...lol And anyone who is a parent, especially of toddlers, will be like, "I miss those days when their cry is "quiet"!!" :)

  15. I have to say, I love the way you're incorporating Violet into your blog. I was curious to see what might change or how it would work since you decided not to share photos and personal details, but the little toes and fluffy bum shots are adorable.
