cornflake dreams.: weekend good things.

weekend good things.

Happy Monday, my weekend went by sooo fast but it was a good one. We saw Birdman on Friday night -- it was weird but not as crazy as I thought it would be. I really loved how it was filmed, as one continuous long take. But overall I thought the movie was just okay -- I'm glad I saw it but I wouldn't want to watch it again. The best part of any movie is always the popcorn -- and that didn't disappoint :)
On Saturday we took a morning trip to the gym and afterwards I met up with the girls for a late lunch at Butcher & Bee. I had a cheeseburger + fries (add that to my list of pregnancy cravings). It was REALLY good and I can't wait to go back and try some other sandwiches. The next day the weather was sunny, so H and I decided to walk the Ravenel Bridge. The bridge is huge with eight lanes of traffic and a protected pathway for bikers and runners. It connects downtown Charleston to Mount Pleasant and goes over the Cooper River and it's about 2.7 miles long each way. It was a great workout and the views of the water were beautiful. I'm excited to walk the bridge again with a stroller and a baby in a few months.
How was your weekend?

  5. Girl, I'm with you on the burger and fries! I've been trying to watch what I eat during this pregnancy, but this little indulgence rears its beautiful head every now and then and it's just glorious!

  9. that bridge is really pretty and huge! jealous of your weather. Hmm, interesting about Birdman, didn't know that - might wait for it to hit DVD. Now I kinda want a burger and fries, but I'm not pregnant so I can't say it's a craving... gosh darn it. One day my husband was talking about how PMS is bullshit and how women just use it to eat stuff (don't worry, i shut him down lol) and we moved on to pregnancy cravings because my friend is pregnant and her husband will drop everything to go get her what she wants - and I said pregnancy cravings are real, so you better believe that when i'm pregnant.. and he said I get 'two cravings a day that he will fulfill' which is pretty bloody awesome in my book ;)

  30. I totally agree. I didn't love Birdman at all. In fact, I didn't understand the hype surrounding it. Maybe its just me? I did just watch Boyhood and it was fantastic if you need a recommendation.

  31. I didn't realize Birdman was a continuous take.... It seems like it might be a renter to me. That bridge is gorgeous and I am so jealous of your weather that you can walk it (way to go mama!!!)

  32. Such an iconic bridge! We drove it to go to Westbrook Brewing Co. when we visited. I didn't realize it had a walking path!
