cornflake dreams.: five on friday + 2015 goals.

five on friday + 2015 goals.

Happy Friday and Happy 2015! I'm linking up with Christina, April, Natasha, and Darci today and sharing my New Year's Resolutions:
ONE: I'm due in March and my biggest goal of 2015 is to finish my pregnancy and deliver a healthy and happy baby. I know I can't control everything, but I'd like to be prepared as possible, so I'm going to finish reading those pregnancy books and take a few classes.
southwestern black bean salad - tomato mozzarella and arugula stack - mixed baby greens pomegranate seeds, gorgonzola cheese with pecans / recipes via Skinnytaste
TWO: Eat healthy. I want to breastfeed, so I know my diet will continue to be important for the baby this year. I also want to get back into shape and staying away from sugar and processed food is half the battle. I'd love to incorporate more salads into my diet.

THREE: Continue to exercise. I'll be lucky if I have the energy energy to workout regularly, so I am looking forward to pushing around a stroller and taking long after dinner walks around our neighborhood :)
FOUR: Make time for myself. I want carve out a little time for myself and continue to do the things that I love -- like blogging and reading. Lately I have been reading with my Intel 2 in 1 device. I was in major need of a Kindle upgrade (I had the original version), and my Acer Aspire Switch 2-in-1 has a LED-backlit widescreen, which is perfect for reading even in little to no light. I'm sure it'll come in handy during those night time feedings. I also like that the display screen is in full color, and the touch screen makes it easy to highlight a passage I want to remember. It's lightweight, so I'm sure it'll be a diaper bag essential.
FIVE: Focus on my marriage and spend quality time with HThings will change when we have a baby -- there's no denying that. But I really want to make sure that H and I still have fun together and laugh (even if we're totally sleep deprived). I am so grateful to have him by my side and I can't wait to see what this year will bring.

Enjoy your first weekend of 2015!

  5. Such a great list and all thing I'm focusing on as well with a baby on the way. Those salads look so good, hopefully they will inspire more veggie eating in my house as well. ;)

  6. #5 is a great goal - things definitely do change and get harder for your relationship in a lot of ways after having a baby (though there are some great perks - there's nothing like seeing your hubby napping with your baby...) but if you're intentional about it, you can definitely still have fun and enjoy each other like you used to. Having babysitters helps too :) Happy 2015 - exciting things ahead!

Also, more salads here too :)

  12. Our friends who now have two children planned date nights, even if it was just a nice dinner at home after the kids were asleep. It's so important to just take time together to connect. (And that mom and baby workout looks so terrifying to me. I'd be afraid of crushing the kid.)
