cornflake dreams.: bumpdate: 7 months.

bumpdate: 7 months.

How far along: I'm 30 weeks -- about halfway through 7 months of pregnancy. (H took this photo at 29 weeks-- hooray for winter beach days).

Size of the baby: According to the My Pregnancy app our baby is the size of large cabbage. She is 15.7 inches long and weighs around 3 pounds.

Gender: A GIRL and we're naming her Violet Mae :) -- she shares her great-grandma's middle name.

How do you feel? I'm pretty tired by 8:30 or 9:00 PM... other than that I feel great! My wedding ring fits but the top part of my belly button is officially an outie (yikes!).

Eating/Cravings: Eating: Oatmeal with blueberries, popcorn (I addicted to this stuff), avocados, scrambled eggs, honeycrisp apples, hummus and veggies (still), and I just finished off the last of the Christmas sugar cookies (whompwhomp). Craving: Portillo's italian roast beef sandwich + cheesy fries, cheesecake (which is a weird one since I haven't had it in years), Chili's salsa + chips.

Miss anything? I really miss riding my bike... it's my first winter in the South and I would LOVE to take advantage of the warm weather and ride around our neighborhood.

General mood: EXCITED! and a little anxious... I just want our baby to be safe, healthy, and happy.

Fears: I hate to complain because overall body/symptom-wise this pregnancy has been really wonderful. I don't have aches or pains, food aversions or nausea, but I have dealt with a lot of anxiety. It seems like every time we go in for an appointment or ultrasound they find something new. First it was abnormal results from the Amniocentesis test (we followed up with another test and she is fine). Then placenta previa (which thankfully cleared itself up), and then I failed my first glucose test (I passed the 3-hour test a few days later). Yesterday we saw a pediatric cardiologist for another ultrasound because they saw something unusual in Violet's heart (hello, first time parent panic). Her heart is functioning normally but she has an extra leaflet in the right valve and it's something we're going to have to check on after she is born. I'm praying that everything will be okay and we won't have to do further tests or procedures.

Sleep: Still sleeping okay, but I'm sick of sleeping on my side.

Workouts: I'm staying active as possible and working out 4-5 times a week, although most days my workouts now last around 30 mins instead of 45 mins.

Things I am looking forward to: We're taking some baby classes (childbirth, basic newborn care, and infant CPR) next month, so that should be interesting.

Best moment this month: Spending the holidays with my parents, feeling Vi move and kick especially after I eat, going to the beach and talking about all the things we want to do with our baby as she grows into a little lady.

Shout out to my baby daddy: H has been incredibly supportive throughout this pregnancy. He has gone to all of my doctor's appointments and calmed me down during my freak out moments.

Maternity clothes: I'm sticking to the tank/cardigan combo for most days. I'm thankful I work from home so I can live in maternity jeans and leggings.

Purchased/ Currently in my shopping cart: I stopped buying baby clothes after my brother told me his newborn daughter is usually swaddled or in diapers for most of the day. Violet already has a solid wardrobe, so I'm trying not to over do it. Lately I've been buying accessories (bows, headbands, pacifier clips) and odds and ends for her nursery (baskets and frames).

And sometimes you will forget that you have outfits or they grow out of them before they even put them on! I'll be praying that the rest of your pregnancy is smooth sailing- And love her name!

  10. Yay Violet!! I actually spoke to my niece Violet on the phone the other day. She's only 2 though so it's a little hard to understand her hehe. Love the middle name that you chose too. You look great though and nice job on working out 4-5 days week! That's really great. I'm sure that Violet will be a healthy baby too. So jealous of that beach photo too, its FREEZING here today!! :-(

  12. Congrats on your baby girl and I am loving the name Violet!! I have a thing for V names as my 4 yr olds name is Vivian - her brothers call her Vivi and it's just so cute. You look amazing and I lived thru all 3 of my pregnancies in leggings - just add a cute tunic or sweater and some heels and you've got a night time (comfy) look!!

  14. I wish I could talk Luke into taking a class. He said we don't need anybody teaching us how to breathe or how to raise our child! LOL. Men.

Since I have all of February off I may take one by myself. Just to get the experience!

  20. You look great lady! Enjoy the rest of your pregnancy because once the baby comes, time seems to really fly by even faster :) Also I love the name you chose, Mae is my sister's middle name :) Also don't worry about getting too many clothes for the beginning - our little guy got so many outfits that are 0-3 month size and he's basically been in footie PJs every day!

  23. You look amazing girl! And love the name Violet, so pretty and unique!! Sending prayers your way that everything is fine with her heart. I have minor heart issues I've had since I was born and while it can sometimes be a pain it doesn't really have any effect on my day to day life!

  25. You look so great! Good for you for keeping up with the working out! That will come in handy at delivery! I'm sorry you've had some minor scares with little Violet. I will say a little prayer that everything will be ok. I'm sure it is, but of coure every little hiccup you have during pregnancy will give you anxiety. Camden is in white onesies and the footed sleepers all day and night now (we stopped swaddling)! I would recommend stocking up on those!

  26. You look adorable! I love the name Violet! Sending prayers and well wishes for your next follow up on her heart. I had major anxiety through out my first pregnancy with Miller. They never found anything wrong with him but I was just convinced something bad was going to happen so I can totally relate. The anxiety went away when he was born, while I still had anxiety about him as a newborn I felt much better having him out of my body and in my arms.

  28. Sorry to hear about the heart issues. I am 26 weeks pregnant with my third and we are having to see specialists for our baby's heart as well as his/her kidney. It's scary and overwhelming knowing something might be wrong but not being completely sure what or to what extent. Hope everything goes well for you!
