cornflake dreams.: bumpdate: 6 months.

12.03.2014

bumpdate: 6 months.

How far along: I'm 25 weeks today, so entering my 6th month of pregnancy.

Size of the baby: According to the My Pregnancy app our baby is 13.5 inches long and weighs about a pound and a half (the size of a rutabaga).

Gender: It's a girl -- thank you for the sweet comments about her name!!

How do you feel? Pretty amazing! I still have tons of energy and I don't have any aches or pains, nausea, or food aversions. Thank you baby! My wedding rings still fit, but my belly button is quickly disappearing (so weird!)

Eating/Cravings: Eating: pine nut hummus, carrots, broccoli, cashews, dried mangos, honey crisp apples... but Craving: my mom's sugar cookies, Girl Scout Tagalong and Samoa cookies, ginormous burgers, skyline chili dip with fritos, and blue cheese.

Miss anything? Blue cheese and lunch meat.

General mood: Excited!!! And anxious to put together our nursery but it'll have to wait a few more months.

Fears: I'm still nervous about the whole possible placenta previa thing... we have an ultrasound at the end of December so that should be a good indication of if things have changed.

Sleep: I've been sleeping pretty well. I only usually wake up once to go to the bathroom...which is good bc it takes a lot to get out of my fortress of pillows.

Workouts: H and I still go to the gym together 4-5 times a week and we talk long walks around our neighborhood. I do a mix of yoga, pilates, foam roller exercises, and pregnancy approved abs moves.

Things I am looking forward to: Christmas! My parents will be in Charleston for the week and they will be at my ultrasound appointment. I'm excited for them to see their granddaughter. I'm also excited to bake and eat tons of Christmas cookies :)

Best moment this month: Actually looking pregnant :)
The bump is bumpin and there's no hiding it -- not that I'd want to! I also love feeling her kick. #dancinginthedark

Shout out to my baby daddy: I got a little teary-eyed when H couldn't resist buying the baby a plush doctor kit and Charleston book last week at the market. soooo stinking cute.

Maternity clothes: I am loving the warm weather in Charleston, it allows me to keep wearing my trusty black maxi dress with plaid button-up shirts. I also love this maternity sweater and I bought another cardigan. The cardigan is great to layer with long stretchy maternity tank tops and they are something I can wear post baby (so that totally justifies buying it in four colors --right?)

Purchased/ Currently in my shopping cart: I bought myself another pair of super soft pj's for the hospital, a gold Willow Crowns headband, and a pair of classic denim overalls :) I have my eye on a Charleston print for the nursery, this sweet heart onesie, and a pair of butterscotch Freshly Picked Moccasins.

  13. Shopping for baby was one of my favorite things to do during pregnancy…but it can get dangerous! I love that Charleston print! We have a different Charleston print in our nursery, but I don't think it would hurt to have another!

  14. Looking good girl! How is it you only get up once a night to pee?! That would be a dream. I get up at least 4 or 5 times. HAHA. Now I'm wondering if that is part of the Gestational Diabetes I was just diagnosed with :(

  21. Isn't it fun when you finally get a little bump that people notice? It's so cute! Yay for feeling great (staying active definitely helps in my experience), and I hope that placenta previa clears up for you - mine did! How great your parents can come to the ultrasound next time.

p.s. you can totally eat blue cheese - it just needs to be pasteurized, which most cheeses sold in US grocery stores are :)
