five on friday.

Happy Friday! I'm linking up with ChristinaAprilNatasha, and Darci today for Five on Friday, so let's get to it!
ONE: This weekend we're going out EVO pizza with some friends. It's on my restaurant wish list and I'm excited to see if it lives up to the hype.

TWO: I really liked this article about money + happiness. It makes me want to save money in the future for more trips and experiences instead of more things.

THREE: We cut our cable a few weeks (there were a ton of channels we weren't watching and I needed to break my Bravo addiction). Well it hasn't been too bad, especially with the addition of Hulu. But we tried two antennas and they were both terrible -- we could only got 2 local channels and the connection was pretty shaky. So we crawled back to comcast (uggh) for another cable box. We went with the super basic package so we're still saving about 1/2 from our orginal our cable bill. I'm just happy I can watch the morning news again AND I'll have PBS for the return of Downton Abbey.

FOUR: There are less than TWO weeks until Thanksgiving! It's one of my favorite holidays and I'm craving pumpkin pie, turkey, and mashed potatoes like crazy. We're traveling to Chicago for the holiday and I want to bring something Southern for dinner. I'm thinking Pimento Cheese + Callie's Buttermilk Biscuits (you can buy biscuit mix online or in the Charleston store). Do you have any favorite sides or desserts that are easy to travel with?
FIVE: There's a few days left to enter the Gerard Yosca giveaway. Enter HERE to win a gorgeous handmade necklace and bracelet!

Have a great weekend!

  6. I've heard so many good things about EVO and still haven't been there. Ha!

I haven't had Callie's pimento, but I'm obsessed with the biscuits. I'm not sure how well it would stay cool while traveling, but I always like brie cheese with a nice jam on top.

  21. Pizza is always good. Always. If it's bad...the world is over or that person seriously sucks at making pizza. Cable is awful as well. So many channels, so little quality shows. Happy weekend! :] // itsCarmen.com ☼ ☯

  28. Jon is 100% about saving money to spend on experiences not things! I'm working on it... I still like nice things :/

  29. I'm so all about collecting moments over things. It's life changing!! We haven't had cable for about a year now, but we watch a lot of Netflix and shows directly from each network's website. I have to say that we do miss cable though. When we decided to go back to school, it was one thing we knew we could sacrifice, but I'm sure we'll get it again one day. When we get to stay in hotels we're such dorks and just sit in our room and watch HGTV or the news haha

  30. Spending more on experiences instead of things needs to be my M.O. going into 2015.
