fall trends for less: sneakers + sweatpants.

I was browsing around JCrew the other day and I saw these photos:
It got me thinking -- is it socially acceptable to go outside in sweatpants?! In the interest of comfort -- I'm going with yes. I found some great sweatpants (ranging in prices $17-$70) and sneakers $85 and under for this laid-back fall trend: vans classic slip-on $47 - nike internationalist sneakers $85 chucktaylor shoreline sneakers $45 - superga 2750 coto classic $65 -420 new balance burgundy sneakers $70 - chucktaylor shoreline sneakers $45

Would you wear sweatpants out of the house?

  1. As much as I'm loving boots/booties right now, I keep finding tennis shoes I want to buy too! I don't think I can pull off sweat pants quite like that, but I think the right outfit could definitely work for some people!

  2. I don't think I would look as put together in my sweats, but I am loving those red new balances

  3. Oh man, I LOVE sweatpants! Sorry, but I do go outside in them haha. I also love Converses. I found a pin with monogrammed Converses, so I definitely want to get those with my new initials after I get married next weekend :)

  4. I definitely go outside in sweatpants as it is but so many of mine are older ones from high school and college sports that aren't exactly trendy or SHOULD be seen in public haha

  6. I saw these sweatpants pants at Old Navy in the everyday section and thought, "shouldn't these be in the workout or sleepwear section?' lol guess I wasn't hip to the trend! I do love the look though! I'm all about comfort meets style!

  7. So I would love to wear this trend outside for pure comfort factor, but I'm not sure I could pull them off! I do love drawstring pants though - like the black ones with heels - so cute!

  8. I think it depends on the sweatpants but these are so cute! I would totally wear these out if I could pull them off, but I'm not sure I could...I feel like I don't have the figure for a really slim fit like this! I LOVE the New Balances, I have a similar pair and I love how retro they look!

  9. I think slim fit sweatpants are totally fine to wear out and about. They are like dressy sweatpants.

  11. I think it depends on where you're wearing them. I would wear them out to run errands or grocery store or something but definitely not out to dinner or something nicer. If that makes sense! LOL!

  12. I keep seeing this swanky sweatpants in stores (Gap had adorable ones right at the front) and they are too cute and too cozy looking to deny. I can't promise I won't be running errands in them this fall.

  13. I'm pretty sure the past 6 years in Colorado has convinced me sweats out of the house are acceptable. I am dying for those white NB in the third photo. Looks like the perfect travel shoe.

  14. I have a hard time wearing sweat pants outside. The closest I seem to get is long yoga pants. I can't pass up a pair of chucktaylors though.

  24. Ok, I wear a lot of work out clothes on the weekend (like yoga capris, etc) and I like cute workout clothes, but I don't know how I feel about wearing sweats that are FOR fashion... Like, instead of wearing jeans, I'll wear these sweatpants... I can't seem to wrap my brain around this...

  26. Considering that I wear sneakers (either sliders or Converse) almost daily, I'd say that comfort is key! Great finds, especially those red New Balance sneaks!

  27. I have been wearing my sweatpants everywhere as of late, including Streeterville for my Chick-Fil-A obsession. It's comfortable, cute, and classy -- as long as it's not sloppy, I'm a fan.

  28. Those sweatpants are adorable! I need to get them and I would totally wear it out!

  29. I have to be honest- the only time I have really worn sweatpants out of the house was to play practice, but I say if it looks as cute as your inspiration pics, then go for it!
And I'm all about the Chucks- they're my favorite sneakers!

  31. I wear my Converse sneakers with jeans a lot, and I have a mid-length skirt that I've worn them with too. Those looks would be cute for when you're traveling, otherwise I'm not sure.. :-) Sorry for commenting a day late too, hope that you are having a great day so far too!
