cornflake dreams.: weekend good things.

weekend good things.

Happy Monday! I had a pretty low-key weekend since H is in the middle of studying for his boards exam (it's in 4-weeks - let the countdown begin!)
Friday night we went to the gym and I picked up some free weights, it felt good to use my muscles again :) Later that night we (finally) finished season two of OITNB and I was pretty happy with the way things ended -- when does season three premiere?!

On Saturday H spent the day studying, while I kept busy around the house. I dragged him outside for a bike ride around our neighborhood and then I made my great-grandma's date nut bread. Later that night, I watched part of Aladdin and Mrs. Doubtfire (ahh, so many good childhood memories.) And followed that up with the not-so-family-friendly movie, The Heat, it kinda dragged on but Melissa McCarthy made me laugh a few times.

I made brunch on Sunday -- we indulged in french toast sticks, turkey sausage, and scrambled eggs (it was soooo good, I need to make brunch more often). H spent the rest of the day studying again (I don't know how he does it) and I finished OutlanderNow I'm debating on starting the next book in the series (has anyone else read it yet?) or starting something new on my summer reading list

How was your weekend?

  5. yay for baking and so sweet you watch some RW films. I watched Aladdin and didn't realize he was the Genie until about 15 min into it. Definitely put a smile on my face.

  8. We usually do a big homemade brunch once month and it's so good! I saw Aladdin was on disney channel and almost watched it but my son wanted mickey's clubhouse instead :) Charleston is still one of my most favorite places, I keep telling my husband we need to move there.

  9. I think I am going to start the Outlander series too. Everyone keeps raving about them and Starz is coming out with a show based on them.

  10. We caught some of Mrs. Doubtfire yesterday! Such a good movie. I'm also ready for OITNB, I heard it isn't coming back until June 2015, ugh!

  18. Ah! I gave Outlander a chance about a year ago and couldn't get through the first one. I'm thinking if giving it another shot because I've heard it gets way better and it does get incredible reviews. Hmmm.

  19. I just love the Instagrams from your walks/bike rides. Such a beautiful area! And I need to actually try making brunch more often. We went out, but the little man is starting to indicate that he's getting to an age that we're going to have to take a little break from restaurants...
