friday five.

Happy Friday!! I'm ready for the weekend :)
ONE: These Honest Slogans made me laugh -- see all of them here.
TWO: When I posted my sangria color crush roundup earlier this week I guess I forgot that I live in the South -- where college football is king. So it might be a good time to mention that I have zero interest in ALL sports -- and yes, that includes pro and college football, basketball, baseball, and hockey (even if the Blackhawks are winning). I have no shame admitting I will go to a game if the tickets are free and there is food. And the same goes for a game-day parties -- appetizers and dips are required. I realize that some people love sports (my husband wants everything in our home to be red and black in honor of his Italian soccer team) but it's just not my thing. But don't worry, we can still be friends... and eat game-day appetizers together.
THREE: During the Summer I really like to watch shows on The Food Network and The Cooking Channel, and one of my favorites: The Great Food Truck Race premiered earlier this week. Watching it makes me want to go back to Portland and visit their food truck scene. Do you watch the show? Do you have a favorite truck yet?
FOUR: H will be studying again this weekend, which will give me lots of time to read The Hundred-Foot JourneyI'm sure an Indian food craving will follow :)

FIVE: I need a haircut soonish -- Charleston ladies, I'd love downtown salon suggestions!

Have a great weekend!

  4. The honest slogans are HILARIOUS! I am also a huge food truck fan. There are awesome food trucks in NYC (some from the Great Food Truck Race) and I try them periodically! I haven't made it to Korilla BBQ yet (because the line is so long and because I am trying to eat a little better) but I will get there eventually. Have a fabulous weekend! xo

  8. I totally agree with that hair cut comic!! It's so true. I swear I'm never cutting my hair short again. I always hate it. The same goes for when I try to dye my hair back dark towards my natural color. I always end up putting blonde highlights back in!! You'd think we'd learn?????

My friend goes to Kelly Hylton downtown and loves her!!

  22. Hahaha ohhhhh that hair cartoon! I've seen way too many friends go through that exact cycle, which is part of the reason why I'm scared to make any major hair changes!

  23. Your search is over - ELYSIUM SALON on Market St (behind Forever 21) is the best of the best. When I first moved here, I couldn't let go of my hairdresser back in VA and would make the trip back home solely for a cut and color. Not smart. Finally I started asking around, and almost everyone recommended Elysium. Ask for Lauren or Kelly!!
