Hello there you lovely Cornflakes Dreams readers. I’m Kristin from BonBon Rose Girls and I’m elated to be guest posting for Jillian today! I’m a Florida girl through and through and as much as I love my beautiful state, I don’t love the sweltering heat that comes with Florida summers. I know many of you are just as hot as I am right now and wondering if it’s possible to look cute when you’re melting. I’m here to tell you it is! After living through twenty plus Florida summers, I’ve found myself turning to my summer uniform time and time again. Said uniform consists of a maxi dress, sandals, sunnies, a tote and a simple accessory.
For me, dresses are actually cooler than shorts, plus it’s so easy to look pulled together in a dress and if you pick one with a bold print like stripes, you can go the minimal route with accessories. Don’t get me wrong...I’m a hard core bauble addict, but when it’s super hot out, I don’t like to pile on the accessories. A few bracelets or pendant necklace, for instance, will do. And I can’t forget my sunnies…There is something about a pair of aviators that just screams summertime to me, but I digress.
Finally, a straw tote and flat sandals are summer mainstays for me. I need a bag large enough for my water bottle and sunscreen. You don’t want to be walking around in wicked heat without either of those necessities. Am I right? And you definitely don’t want to be uncomfortable, which is where the flat sandals come in. The heat is already uncomfortable enough. Don’t torture your feet too. Haha!
So, what’s your summer uniform?
