Happy Friday! I am so ready for the weekend!! After a snow storm earlier this week it is warming up in Chicago (YAH!). This month I have been doing quite a bit of online shopping (I'll admit it's probably not the best way to cope with the cold weather) but I have manage to find some really great pieces for spring -- and summer! Here are my spring hits and misses:
-LA Made cape cod mini dress - This dress is incredibly flattering, the fabric has lots of stretch but it isn't too clingy. It will look great with nude sandals this spring and summer.
-Dense Loft bi-stretch ankle zip pants - These are fantastic work pants, the fabric is thick but still has a great amount of stretch without suffocating your legs. (now 40% off - no code required).
-Old Navy tab-collar tunic dress -This dress is similar to the LA Made dress-- 3/4 sleeves with a button down henley collar. I can't wait to wear it to work with a belt and heels and later this summer with sandals.
-Beach tie waist strapless blue dress - I generally do not wear strapless summer dresses but I couldn't resist the bold blue color. It's super comfortable and it will be perfect for hot summer days. (40% off - no code required)
-Beach double strap wrap black dress - This is another great summer dress, it can also be used as a swimsuit cover-up. (40% off - no code required)
-Blue stripe beach dress - I had high hopes for this dress and stalked it for weeks online until it was finally restocked in my size. Imagine my disappointment when I finally got it in the mail and the elastic mid-waist fit was super awkward and the material was thin and looked cheap. I have already returned it!
-Jersey tank dress - ugh. no. great concept but the fabric was sheer and it has that weird elastic waist again -- another one for the return pile.
-Swing sweater - So this sweater works for a lot of people but I just wasn't a fan, it was just wayy too wide for me.
-Striped scoop neck linen tee - The linen fabric had a shiny appearance that was distracting and not flattering.
-Jcrew look-alike navy jacket from Target- I have this jacket in olive from Jcrew so I couldn't help but compare the two. The styles are similar but the fabric reveals the difference in price...the Target version is plasticy and looks cheap. The Jcrew downtown field jacket is water-resistant, resin-coated canvas, it resembles an even more expensive British brand (Barbour) and I think it'll for years. Do yourself and your closet a favor and save your money and buy the original.
