cornflake dreams.: winter reading list.

2.11.2014

winter reading list.

sooo despite all of my complaining about the snow and cold, this winter has been perfect for lots of reading (because i don't want to leave the house!). I have read three books this year (which is an accomplishment, trust me) and now I need to find something new.

I started the year with my January book club pick: The Lowland by Jhumpa Lahiri (one of my favorite authors). Then I read, If I Stay by Gayle Forman (about a girl who is in a coma), it kinda dragged on for being a short book and no surprise it was a little bit of a downer! Last week I finished, Where'd You Go, Bernadette last week. OMG guys. I loved it!! Do you have any similar quirky recommendations?!

I'm thinking about starting Me Before You by JoJo Moyes; Brain on Fire: My Month of Madness by Susannah Cahalan or The Painted Girls by Cathy Marie Buchanan.

Have you read any good books lately?

Jillian

  1. I need a new book with substance. I heard Brain on Fire was suppose to be really good. I just read "crazy rich asians" it was a mindless funny read..good plane book! Nothing is better when it's snowing out then snuggling up with a book and hot chocolate! xoxoxo

  2. Great round up. I am currently reading Me Before You and I really like it. But it feels pretty long. I also read Eleanor & Park... a cute, quick read.

  3. I don't have any book recommendations (womp womp). The last book that I read was the Paris Wife and I really liked it, but that was like a year and a half ago. I've been dying to pick up Where'd You Go, Bernadette! I'm glad that you liked it!

  4. Great ideas Jillian! I haven't picked up a book in at least a year. And I won't count the "What to expect in baby's first year." haha Thanks for recommending these. Will pick up Where'd You Go, Bernadette this week. :)
