good things.

This weekend was lazy and full of good things. Friday night we decided to marathon season two of girls. It was hilarious - hannah drugs are no excuse to run around new york in a mesh tank! and put down the q-tips!!! If you don't have HBO, you can watch the first two episodes of season 3 on YouTube. Also- if you are a fan you'll laugh at this buzzfeed article - the cast of hbo's girls as american girl dolls

- On Saturday we got together with family for dinner at Flo in west town. I had a pork tamale and chicken taco with corn salad...it was spicy but sooo tasty. I think I found a new favorite combo!

- I am happy to report that i have been keeping up with workouts and my weekend was full of yoga and pilates :) lately I have also been wanting to run (which is kind of a miracle, since I am not a cardio fan). I ran a little bit on the treadmill the other week (in my flimsy pumas) and my knees hurt immediately. So this weekend I ordered a new pair of nike 'free 3.0 v5' running shoes! I can't wait to start incorporating a little cardio into my routine.

- On Sunday night I made black bean and veggie chili (I'll post a recipe next week.)

I am working from home today (it is FREEZING in Chicago. again.) Stay warm friends!

How was your weekend?
xo,

  1. I love Girls! That Buzzfeed article cracked me up. I definitely binged on the show for a week or so before the third season premiered. Have fun working from home!

  5. I have been loving Girls and can't wait to check out that article. I can only imagine. Oh and good call on the running shoes! I have the Nikes too and one tip is to ease into it unless you've used minimalist shoes before. The times where I tried to run too much, too fast, my knees started hurting. But otherwise, they're great!

  10. I'm interested to see how those kicks work for running! I'm always looking for a good running shoe. I'm just the opposite. I could cardio for hours and not care about weight lifting at all.

  12. Sounds like you had a fun & relaxing weekend which is sometimes much needed :) soooo proud of you for keeping up with your workouts! I feel like it's so much harder (1) in the winter time and (2) on the weekends...when all you want to do is sleep and eat pizza...and ice cream...and drink beer. hahaha Let me know how those shoes work out for ya! I am in desperate need of a new pair and was leaning towards mizunos or asics.

  15. I just can't get on board with Girls. I keep watching it hoping that I'll love it as much as other people. Maybe I'm too old. Haha. Anyway, I DO love that American Girl cast version!

  17. I've been running A LOT lately! We're training for a race coming up in March & I've really surprised myself on improving my running abilities. It really does get easier the more you do it - not gonna lie tough - it's a hard workout! Maybe I'll start incorporating yoga into my routine on non-running days :)
