a resolution for 2014.

Every year I make resolutions. they usually have something to do with working out, not shopping online and watching less reality tv. and I usually have trouble following through with those resolutions... especially when it comes to shopping.
So this year I want to do something a little different. h recently sent me an article that is all about gratitude and giving thanks year-round. I reflected on my own behavior and I have to admit that sometimes I take things for granted. I know I would appreciate the people, things and experiences in my life more if I made a point to just say thanks!

So this year i resolve to say thank you more often...
I am incredibly grateful for my husband, my family, and my friends for their love and friendship. I am also thankful for my job and the opportunity to grow in my career; my health and the doctors in my life;  all of the the adventures and trips I have taken and finally, thank you to all the people who read this blog and support cornflake dreams, it means the world to me.

What are your resolutions for the new year?

What are you thankful for?

  1. great one! i posted mine today. :) happy new year!

  2. I love this! I never make resolutions–I find that if you're not already doing something, you're unlikely to start–but try to improve on things I'm doing, like exercising with more frequency or taming my critical nature. In the last few months, John and I have been communicating really well, and in 2014 I'd like to keep up that momentum–we both just have to remember that we don't actually always know what the other is thinking!

  3. Great resolution! I can't do resolutions either. I feel like I just set myself up for failure. I think saying thank you is going to be a word I use a lot from now on too! Happy New Years!

  4. thank YOU! hope this year is your best yet.

  5. This is a great resolution! It made my list too! I'll start by thanking you for being a loyal reader & commenter! :) Happy New Year Jillian!

  6. This is a very similar resolution as mine. I never take time to stop and really be thankful. I feel like I get caught up in the busyness of everything and don't truly appreciate how blessed I am. Thanks for the reminder (again) that this is what life should be about. Maybe we can all hold each other accountable!

    Xo, J

  7. I love this resolution... mind if I borrow it?? I still need to sit down and think through my resolutions, but I think that having a thankful heart should definitely be on the list.

  8. Love love love this! Writing thank you notes and just letting my family friends know how much I appreciate them is definitely on my list as well :) xoxo
