halloween movie marathon.

happy halloween!! this is the first time in a few years that i haven't dressed up and gone out for halloween...i can't say that i hate it! so instead, i plan to watch a few of my favorite halloween movies tonight. i love the witches (the book is even better), hocus pocus and anything by tim burton - beetlejuice, sleepy hallow (i usually wait until december to watch the nightmare before christmas and edward scissorhands). and yes, i realize most all of these movies are for kids... but i can't really handle seriously scary movies! :)

how do you celebrate halloween?!
what are you favorite halloween movies?

  2. Such a good lineup! Last year we watched Paranormal Activity. Yeah. That was a huge mistake. Was up all night. Definitely like your choices much better!

  3. John and I watched Hocus Pocus just last night–it's our Halloween tradition!

  4. Conor and I have the argument every year on whether Nightmare before Christmas should be watched in October or in December! We usually compromise and watch it in November as a transition :) I've seen Edward Scissorhands precisely once, and it makes me so sad I can't watch it ever again. It's an amazing movie, but just brutally sad.

Add Interview with the Vampire and Corpse Bride (this is such a fun little Tim Burton movie - watch it if you haven't next year!) to the rest of your list and you have our October staples!

  5. Loove all of these movies! Every October I read Something Wicked This Way Comes, such great Halloween nostalgia. I'll be handing out candy to all the neighborhood little ones tonight and watching Sleepy Hollow. Have a fabulous Halloween!

  7. Gotta say I stick with the old favorites - Birds is the only real film to properly "scare" me!

  8. i have never seen Hocus Pocus. When it came out, I was too "cool" to see it, so I never did.
