date night: chicago architectural boat tour.

This weekend h and I played tourist in our city and we went on an architectural boat tour. It's the best way to see Chicago and learn something new about the city. This was the second tour we've gone on but this time h brought the big camera and got some beautiful shots on the river:
One of my favorite things about the tour, was pointing out buildings that the
architecture firm I used to work for designed (the first image below):

What is your favorite toursity thing to do in your city?

  3. I have done this once but I have also taken the water taxi along the river. It is fun to be a tourist in your own hometown.

  4. I haven't been on a tour in San Diego yet...I need to! But in San Francisco (my real hometown), I've been to Alcatraz, Pier 39, Union Square and one of my favorite touristy things to do is go to Ghiradelli Square and order a yummy sundae! :)

  5. I took this boat tour last time I was in Chicago and loved it! Such a neat way to learn about the city :) Here in Portland, restaurants/food carts are definitely a main tourist attraction, and I've definitely been taking advantage of that!

  6. This is one of the things I really wish we'd of done when we visited Chicago for our honeymoon (although it was December and I can't remember if they would have been running then anyway). Such a great city can't wait to go back!
