wedding wednesday- shoes!

i loved all of your comments to yesterdays post... i am glad i am not the only baby crazy lady! okay so back to reality(ish)! wedding planning and wedding wednesday! so dream dress means dream shoes right? obviously the dress and the shoes should work together but since i don't have a dress picked out (i am going shopping at the end of the month!) i have quite a few shoe ideas! initially i was thinking sandals or flats...
 via, via, via, via

but these heels are pretty stunning too.. and i think i would be able to survive in some killer heels for a few hours.

what is your wedding shoe preference? do you choose style over comfort? traditional or something bright and fun?!

I love all the heels with the gorgeous bows!

These are gorgeous! I love the bright ones! You'll want to be comfortable because it's a long day. I chose stylish shoes for the ceremony and part of the party, but then changed into comfy shoes for the evening. So, my recommendation: two pairs of shoes! The more, the merrier!

I got married on the beach so my mom made me flip flops but I love the idea of a bight crazy color heel --- at least for some great pictures :-)

i wore my killer heels until my husband stomped on my foot and i couldn't take it anymore. then into my comfortable shoes. best of both worlds.

Those heels would be even more gorgeous in red!! :) Plus, you could always switch to flats for the dancing portion of the evening.

Jenny in Ohio said...

you can never go wrong with gold shoes!!

How about heels for wedding and pictures and flats for reception? That's my plan :)

I would definitely choose bright and fun!! I'm loving the blue, yellow and pink ones!! The wedding shoes are pretty important in my book!! ;)

My bright blue/green/pink shoes made me very happy and I received lots of compliments over them. That's my vote! Bright and fun!

I love the look of a bright shoe with a stunning white or ivory gown. The yellow heels by BHLDN are gorgeous! I'm only 5'1", so I wanted to have some more height on my wedding day. I chose a heel between 3-4 inches. The shoes were amazing and I LOVED them, since they had a T strap vintage look. Anyway, by the end of the night I was dying in them. Lots of walking, standing, dancing, etc. I wish I had tucked a pair of flats into my purse for the reception!

loving all of these! i WAS going to wear flats, but these bow peep toes caught my eye!

I almost bought those yellow pumps!! But instead I got green pumps with a bow from Kate Spade. LOVE the idea of colored shoes for a wedding!!

Love all of the heels! Gorgeous.

i say get ones you love and bring flats or sandals for recpetion and dancing

i love when brides use a splash of color with their shoes. i went for gold peep-toe heels that had a huge bow on them... but then i changed into flats :)

I love the little "love" decal on that one pair--so sweet!

However, I strongly recommend wearing a comfortable shoe OR buying small inserts, the ones that fit under your foot so you can't see them. I wore shoes that had cushioned soles and my feet were fine, but a good friend of mine didn't, and her feet were sore for days--standing still in uncomfortable shoes is pretty rough!

I had two pairs of shoes for my wedding. I definitely chose comfort - I had flats with a white leatherish strap, almost like fancy flip flops. They were super comfy and I didn't mind standing or dancing in them. Then I had hot pink heels that I wore in our pictures for a pop of color, that matched perfectly with my bouquet. I loved having more than one pair of shoes!

I love the idea of bright and fun wedding shoes. My friend recently got married and she had gorgeous bright yellow peep toes under her dress. It was so fun to see a little hint of yellow as she walked down the aisle. She changed into flats though for the dancing. In fact, she set up cute little baskets filled with gray and yellow (her colors) Old Navy flip flops for all the girls at the wedding to change into for the reception. By the end of the night, some of the guys were wearing them too!

I chose a ridiculously high pair of heels in order to avoid altering my dress. Last minute I decided this was a very bad idea and I'm so glad I did! Flats are good, just don't do the flip flop thing that some do, please!!

natasha {schue love} said...

Comfort is key...no one even sees them under your dress...except maybe for pictures! I chose bridal shoes that were pretty and comfy...good compromise! :)

Sara said...

Go for the heels! I wore a pair of Jimmy Choo's for the wedding and photos then kicked them off for sandals for the dancing. Best of both worlds.

Liz {Sequins And Stripes} said...

Such pretty images! I think you have to throw comfort out the door and focus on a fabulous shoe. I don't know if I would choose color but I love the way it looks in photos!

Julip Made said...

I know the Boy would love me to pick flats because with heels I'm an inch away from his height. However, this lady loves her pumps.. especially those with the bows. As for comfort, I say suck it up for fashion and if need be, change into bare feet or sandals for dancing!

So cute! I love the white ones with the bows!

When I get married, I totally want a pair of fabulous heels. Whether they are a bold pop of color (I'm leaning towards tiffany blue or mint green ) or classic white/ivory with tons of detail/embellishments, they will be heels and they will be fabulous. I'm getting married in Hawaii, so how functional they'll be, I have no clue. But who cares?!

Sam {fitnessfoodandfaith.blogspot.com} said...

i bought some super hot, really tall heels but ended up wearing some lower pretty boring white shoes that i'd had for years instead. oops!! i just wanted to be able to DANCE!

I adore.

ooo i defiantly want some high shoes at least for a little while - you can bet I will bring some flats for dancing later though!

i love the love on the bottom of the shoes, I pinned it to remember :)

Oh my gosh. The bottom left flats from BHLDN are amazing!! I want them just to wear around. I'm seriously in love. I think I'm going to wear heels...maybe blue...or purple! :)

my wedding shoes are mid-way between comfort and style. originally picked out a pair of 4inch heels, but then i thought better of it. now, i have 2 inch heels that are more comfortable, but still stylish : )

Erica [pocket full of chuckles] said...

I dream of stylish shoes, but I always end up buying ones that are more comfortable, like flats. It probably has to do with the fact that I'm 5'9 and the tallest out of all my friends :)

debbiecutieface said...

my dream wedding shoe? Probably baby blue pumps (for my "something blue," right?). But truthfully speaking, I'll probably choose flats when the day comes. I don't want to be in pain during my own wedding!

Kristin said...

I always wish I'd gone for blue shoes instead of off white! Le sigh.

Haley{PairsandPours} said...

I always go for flats for longer events but I think you should try to brave the heels! obsessed with the bottom right pair in pink/red

I'm doing a flat summery sandal with some fun bling!

I would do two pairs of shoes if I were you. Heals for the ceremony and flats or something comfy for dancing the night away! xo

Things That Sparkle said...

I feel so torn about this subject! I might do both... heels for ceremony, flats for party?

christine donee said...

I love the pop of color!

But I think I'll do both? So my feet don't hate me too much?

leigh said...

Bright shoes are so fun! You just have to make sure you're comfortable too, so flats are super cute & classy too.

I love heels in a pop of color. It's super cute when they match your flowers or the bridesmaid dresses. I also love a deep sapphire blue. So stunning! Mine were a light metallic gold to match my champagne sash. They had a low heel and were comfortable but not memorable. I wish I had gone with something more fun!

Katie said...

Love all of these! Your blog is so lovely, going to start following now xo

fun choices!!! normally i would gravitate to a flat or low heel since HIGH heels are so uncomfortable to me, but it's your wedding day and you should do something fun!! i love the idea of the white dress with a vibrant, bright shoe. what if you even got a shoe like that for the ceremony and for pictures, and then changed into something more comfortable for the reception?

I want bright green satin peeptoes like molly mesnicks' shoes. LOVED everything about her wedding. Good luck deciding!

i wore teal blue pumps for the ceremony and changes into comfy heels wedge (so my dress wouldn't drag) flip flops for the reception.

i love those sweet pink ones. i actually spent half of my wedding day barefoot since we were out in the grass playing lawn games, lounging on picnic blankets, and soaking in the sunshine. for the dancing portion of the evening i slipped on a pair of cute flats. i say you need to feel your best on your wedding day, whatever that means to you, and don't worry about what is "in" or most fashionable.
