baby fever.

last week at dinner h's brother asked me what my last name was and what i was going to do after the wedding. i responded with WE'RE GOING TO MAKE SOME BABIES! (clearly i misunderstood the question). the group laughed... until i figured it out. yep. not talking about that...o man did that just happen?! crazy cakes-take it down a notch. for the record i will be changing my last name... and yes, we plan to have a family... eventually. till then i can gawk at little ones and dream about nurseries without all that diaper responsibility.

if you are feeling the baby fever check out a my favorite bloggers who are expecting:: kristen from a kapple a day, sydney from the daybook, sandy from sandy a la mode, bon bon from the whim wham life

do you have children? or do you want them in the future? what are your thoughts on adoption?
(ideally we would like to have one or two children and then adopt).

Ive been feeling the baby fever lately. I think there is like 3 woman in my family who is pregnant! I want one so bad. But for now I'm happy just playing with theirs and eventually (4 years) I'll get one :)

I want to do the same, have two and adopt one.

Oh man, that sounds like something I would say...and then realize. Yes, I changed my last name, but took my old one and made it my middle name (I've got a thing about continuing to identify with my family). Yes, we want to have kids someday, but I've spent enough of my life as a babysitter and sometimes a nanny that I know I don't want them quite yet!

Still, these babies are perfectly adorable.

I've had baby fever my whole life it seems- my husband and I have two kids together and I adopted his daughter from his first marriage. I'd still love to have another eventually:)

Every now and then I get baby fever and go and visit my nieces and nephew! We definitely want to have kids in the future, but we want a few more years of just us!

Stephanie said...

That just made me laugh- I love it! That is my happy thought for the day! My nieces contain any baby fever here. It's great to babysit and do fun stuff with them, but then give them back to their parents. :)

I have two children. My daughter is 12 years old and my son just turned 1 years old. We tried for several years after my daughter with no luck & then 12 years later, I ended up pregnant. Of course by this point we had quit trying so it was quite a shock. Right after my son was born, I still had "baby fever". I had planned on having another as soon as he was a year old but NOW that he is mobile and moving everywhere, think I want to wait a bit longer!!!!!

I've totally got second baby fever! I'm making do by shopping for Meg's lil' bean. HA!

This is an overload of preciousness. I think I will perpetually have baby fever. My husband and I both want to take it one child at a time and always stay open to if God wants to give us another life. We have two and hope we will have a large family. Adoption would be amazing. There are wayyy too many unwanted children.
:) Can't wait till its your turn!

i'm not sure i'll ever have baby fever, but i'm pretty sure the time is drawing near. but i do love looking at all the lovely nurseries people have. and if i could have one of those, maybe having a kiddo wouldn't be so scary to me! :)

Joelle said...

Oh, I know how you feel...I can't even walk by the baby department at Target without getting a little teary. We get to wait at least four more years until Robert is out of school, but then it's on :)

I really do think that I want to adopt someday, even if we have our own biological children too. And if we can't have kids at all, we will definitely adopt.

Even if it won't be for a while, I can't wait to follow along with you and your little family! Good luck!

xoxo,
Joelle

Hahaha love the answer you gave! That is just too funny!! I always have baby fever and still look around at baby clothes and furniture to give me ideas for when the time comes for me! There's nothing wrong with having this fever!! It's in our blood! ;) That baby at the bottom right is just gorgeous!!

haha girl, you crack me up! :D

All (well most) of my friends have all started little families now. Truth be told, Luke & I are unsure if we want to have kids (we're hoping that changes with time...) I do LOVE kids, I guess we're just both afraid of all the changes that it would bring... Ok, writing that makes me sound like a total weirdo! :-/

So funny! I'm getting married in May and yes, changing my name. Then due to lovely residency, we will probably wait a few years to have babies (I'd love to be financially very stable first). I think we will start with a dog!! but these pictures are too cute :)

Yes, I'm married (last year was the 7-year itch), and we have 2 little boys (aged 7 and 6)...if I had another, it would be by adoption. And in terms of timing for babies...no time is really the RIGHT time (seriously, I'm not trying to be pessimistic). Parenting is HARD work (changing diapers is easy-peasy compared to waking up every 2 hrs to breastfeed, trying to take toddlers grocery shopping, or putting up with 7 year-old attitudes)! But, let me tell you...in SO many other ways (that obviously outweigh the negatives), having children makes life so much more meaningful! When you have kids, it's not all about YOU anymore, every decision you make is about what is best for them. Some couples (usually the logical ones), decide to put this off until they are ready (financially/personally/etc), and therefore have more time to enjoy each other prior to family-life. Others (usually the ones that think with their hearts instead of their heads, ie. ME), choose to have 'em young. And we'll get our couple time when we're 40 (which is only like 11 years away!) Either way, you do get BOTH :)

I love that Max costume! My eldest is going to be Max for halloween, since he's my wild thing :)

Just what I need: another super precious blogger to be pregnant! lol I love your little panic moment, but I'll tell you what my parents always told me: slow down and enjoy the moment. This is the last time in your life you will ever get to be *insert blank*. For you it's engaged and planning a wedding. And while it may seem stressful and the next step so much better, you will eventually miss this time. So slow down and soak it up.

haha, that's so funny! whoops. :) i like working with kids in therapy and i love all the cute kid things i find on etsy/craft fairs, but i really don't ever want one of my own. i could maybe {Maybe} adopt when i'm older {maybe in my 40's}, but probably not. it's one of those things that makes me a total black sheep of blogland, but there it is. :)
