I love the 20's too! I've wanted to be a flapper for the past 3 Halloween's but I haven't come around to actually getting the costume. Maybe this year, haha. If I could go back to any decade, it would definitely be the 20's. :)

The 20's were so fabulous! Their hair was incredible. I think I am obsessed with the 80's- I know it's kind of overdone now but I love it still!

Def. the 20's, and even more specific, in the Great Gatsby. The Beatnik late 50's is a close second.

My barre instructor plays swing music and it puts me in the best mood!! I'm thinking that's like the 40's? Fun post!

i just want to slip on that dress and dance!

The 20's is too, my favorite decade! My great grandmother kept elobrate scrapbooks & journals of her teen years in the 20's and saved all her beautiful dresses that she used to go out dancing in. It is by far my favorite possession!

I LOVE the 20s too! All things flapper have me hooked. The dresses you want to dance in & the feather headbands! I also have a soft spot for the 50s. I love poodle skirts & the whole sweetness of the dresses from that era. I just realized that those eras make no sense together. Haha. Oh well.

I love the 20's but I am definitely a late 60's early 70's girl. My hippie heart goes crazy imagining myself back then.

Oooh! I love this post! I love the 20s - I was a flapper girl for Halloween many years in a row. My mom made me the most perfect dress that I wore for dress up all the time. Such a fun decade!

I'm with ya! I love the 20s. The Great Gatsby is my all-time fave book!
The parties, the lifestyle, the breezy south... ohh a girl can dream!

But lately I've been watching Mad Men. Although I don't particularly care for how the men treated their wives, The dresses and the whole lifestyle seems so amazing.

Beautiful post--I would totally ROCK a flapper dress! I think the 60s really do it for me though, the bright colors, flowy materials. Such a great balance.

i have a HUGE soft spot for the 20's myself. The rebellious nature of prohibition, the fabulous clothes, a female revolution. love your photos, Jillian!

Funny thing. My mom always said that I should have been born in the 20's..that she thinks I would have fit in perfectly. :)

I wish I could have a cute little 20s bob! Finger curls are hard though...

{av} | {long distance loving} said...

I'm right there with you on the 20s, though I think I'd love to transport myself to the 50s. I love the fringe and fun from the 20s so much, but I love the great lines a few decades later! I have been told that I should have been born in the 70s so I could have rocked the big hair in the 80s ;) xoxo {av}

p.s. I'm linking up tomorrow with some southern inspiration--I'm pumped!

John's been reading Fitzgerald short stories and this morning, he left the house wearing suspenders! I think my favorite decade would be '54-'64; there's something so heavenly about the styles and sensibility!

Personally, I am a fane of late 50's early 60's for the clothing and decor. 20's is awesome though, I just don't think I can pull off 20's style anywhere but a fancy dress party!

Because my hubby and I are frantically catching up on Mad Men (just finished season 2), I am loving the early 1960s right now :)

Plus I have fun imagining my grandparents as the newlyweds and young parents they were during this time!
