singing in the...

we leave for portland tomorrow and i have been checking weather.com like a maniac the past few days. i have no doubt it's going to rain so i will be prepared with a jacket and umbrella. but do i lug my hunters along too?! they are not the most comfortable walking shoes but it's also not comfortable to walk around in wet shoes...
what do you think?

xoxo,
jillian

ps today's spring escape blog stop is over at elle sees- don't miss it!

If you're going to portland, I def suggest taking the hunters if you have space - the weather there is unpredictable and it rains a ton!

Just wear the Hunters on the plane, that way you don't have to worry about packing them and have a small pair of slippers in your carry on to change into :)

I love Hunters and I would totally take them! I agree with Christina, you should wear them on the plane so you dont have to worry about packing them:) Love those photos, sweetie
Happy day

Ps: I’m hosting a cool Loop GIVEAWAY later today! Hope you’ll join in:)

yea i always wear my biggest shoes on the plane. but if they are not that comfortable to walk in, do you have a pair of comfortable flat regular boots that would work? i know it kind of sucks to get the leather wet but i normally just pretend that later i will remember to shine them (this is why there is still a hint of salt from our recent snow storms).

Oh, I love this! You've made me so eager for spring and rain and umbrellas and puddles. I hope your trip is great!

Love this!! The mud room is so cute!

Definitely take the Hunters! You will regret it if you don't. Cute post!

Taylor said...

I would say bring them, save room in your suitcase and wear them - s easy to slid on/off at security. Stow some ballet flats in your carry-on in case you need a quick change - and you are good-to-go!!! Have so much fun, I've never been!

OY - Need more coffee...look at me miss spelling left and right! :(

I love that mudroom and those croc Hunters- fabulous! Have a great time lovely. xo

Take them...for sure. I always lug mine to Chicago and it is semi-annoying because they are not carry on friendly, but the one time I didn't have them was even more annoying!

im loving that trench coat - and even those umbrellas are so sophisticated!

It rains all the time in Portland -- but as long as you have cute rain gear, it's ok!

Oooh I have had my eye on those croc hunters for a while, they are fabulous! I also love cute umbrellas but since I have a habit of leaving them everywhere, I tend to opt for the $10 ones! Have a blast in Portland!

Definitely bring the hunters! Nothing worse then wet, cold feet after walking around in the rain.

Ashleigh said...

Insoles & thick socks might help, mine aren't that comfortabbe either but I despise wet feet!

Mo Pie, Please said...

That is a tough call! Wet feet are the worst, and shoes take FOREVER to dry! So I think it might be worth it. When I take mine along, I wear them on the plane so they don't take up space in my suitcase. Good luck!

Don't let the idea that it rains all the time in Portland fool ya... It doesn't really rain thaaaaaat much :) Watch I say this & it's going to downpour now, eeeek! It will likely rain for a bit then stop - It "shouldn't" rain the entire day though! I would say don't worry about rain boots, just wear what is comfortable & you'll be fine. promise.

Fun fact: Most (I'd say about 75%) of true Oregonians don't even own an umbrella & rain boots!

Jocelyn said...

Bring the Hunters, they are just too cute not too! :) Wear them on the plane and on the way home so you don't have to back them :)

Julie {love, julie} said...

I agree with most people, bring them and wear them on the plane. Have a fantastic trip!

You could bring your Hunters, or buy a cheapo pair of rain boots when you get here, if you really need them? But then you'd want to take them back with you...so, ok, bad idea me! It was pouring down rain yesterday! Just grey today. Blegh! xoxo

I'm not sure I'd pack the boots, they take up so much space and are not comfy for walking! A trench and umbrella should be good. Have a great weekend!!

Bring them! One of my biggest pet peeves is wet shoes! It's so uncomfortable & sad if they get ruined. HAVE FUN!

Ashley said...

have so much fun in portland and take pics of all your wonderful fashion!!

I say definitely take them...you don't want to have wet shoes! YUCK! Plus, you will look fabulous!! Have fun!!

I got some of those Dr Scholl's "gellin'" inserts for my wellies and it made them way more wearable for long periods of time. If it's going to be wet, you'll wish you had them. :-/

Have fun on your trip!

The bay is supposed to be wet all week, and while rainboots are the best walking shoes, they beat leaving your cute boots by the furnace every night...wear those suckers!

natasha {schue love} said...

I vote for the Hunter boots...it's been really wet here in Northern CA, so I can only imagine Portland! And Hunters aren't THAT bad are they? :)

Ashley said...

LOVE it. I NEED a cool nude color umbrella. :) I say bring the Hunters to be safe? Better safe than sorry, no? Have FUN!!
