it's no secret that i am obsessed with all things pesto. i LOVE basil and i am anxiously awaiting our new basil plant to sprout some leaves so i can start cookin. here are some recipes i am dying to try::
pesto, spinach and tomato garlic bread via haute apple pie
tomato and bacon sandwiches with basil mayo and chicken basil Parmesan burgers via framed cooks
healthy pesto pasta via hungry girl
this weekend we had dinner with h's dad and we ordered a basil, tomato, and mozzarella pizza from piece pizza (my fave in chicago). it was delicious and i would highly recommend it for anyone who wants a break from the deep-dish variety.

basil is definitely my favorite as well! I love growing it in the summer! cute photos!

@kristin-- try planing some seeds and water it every day- basil is one of the easiest herbs to grow :)
Mmm..me too! I love basil so much. It's a good thing that it's so hard to kill, because it's about the only plant I can keep alive!

i love pesto!! everytime i try to grow basil, i forget to water it and it dies. so sad! i need to try again because that pizza looks delish!
My mom has been putting basil in everything lately, and it is so good! It gives everything such a great flavor!
omg omg omg omg omg. I LOVE PESTO. My mom literally has an aerogarden so she can make it all year and I bring it back in frozen bags on the airplane from Indiana. Can't wait to try some of these recipes :) great taste, little lady! xoxo {av}
